I learned something new which is how to check whether an IC found on PCB of mobile phones, laptop, power supply is damaged or not. There are two ways, the first is by touching and inspecting for any heatup and burnout of the IC. This might not always be clear. But there is also another way to find faulty IC on electronics circuit printed circuit boards.
The trick is to check for capacitor near the IC. One of the side must be
grounded and so there should be a beep in continuity checking. The
other side of this capacitor should not however beef. If both sides
beeps that there is high chance that the IC has malfunctioned due to
overvoltage and heat burnout or due to other reasons. That is if there is beep from both sides of the capacitor then the capacitor is shorted and the integrated circuit chip is malfunctioning or damaged.
