I have been running an WISP(Wireless Internet Service Provider) and was looking for radio and antenna other than Ubiquiti. I am using Ubiquiti products but want to use other brand now because many of the ubiquiti antenna+radio got damaged. I don't know about other WiFi radio and antenna products but I will have to buy and check them because I don't see another alternative. So while I was searching for radio products for my WISP network, I came across the TP-Link EAP110 and EAP225 indoor/outdoor radio wit antenna. TP-Link products are used worldwide and I have used them before I even started building my own WISP network. So here is what I have learned about them.
The following shows EAP225 and EAP110:
The TP-Link EAP110 and EAP225 are both access points in the Omada series, but they differ significantly in performance and features. The EAP110 is an older, entry-level model that supports only the 2.4 GHz band on the 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4) standard, offering speeds up to 300 Mbps. It uses passive PoE and is suitable for small offices, cafes, or low-density environments where only basic Wi-Fi is needed. In contrast, the EAP225 supports the faster 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) standard and is dual-band, operating on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with combined speeds up to 1350 Mbps. It includes features like MU-MIMO and beamforming for better performance with multiple users, supports both 802.3af standard PoE and passive PoE, and is better suited for larger offices, hotels, schools, or higher-density networks. The EAP110 is cheaper and more basic, while the EAP225 offers more coverage, speed, and stability, making it the better choice for future-proof setups.
