I have used Ubiquiti products and though they were simple and easy to deploy, they get easily damaged. I have multiple times repaired Lite AP and now I have unrepairable Power Beam(at least where I live). So I thinking about using the TP-link products or other brand.
I came across the names of CPE210 and CPE510 and wondered if they can be used in for wireless internet distribution. I wondered what the range of TP link CPE210 and CPE510 area and whether the CPE210 and CPE510 be used to distribute wireless internet to home wifi routers like TL WR841N ?
After doing a basic research on the internet, I found out that they can be used both as access point in the base station antenna or for client. I think these wifi routers are designed to be installed at the client because it says CPE which means customer premise equipment.
The range is said to be 10km to 15km for CPE210 which is 2GHz wifi radio+antenna. The range of CPE510 is over 15km. The ranges are if they are configured as point to point link(PtP). The rated speed of both CPE210 and CPE510 is 300Mbps. The cost of CPE210 is around 8000 and the cost of CPE510 is around 9000.
But my question was do I need additional home router like TP-link WR841N for clients. The answer lies in the WISP mode of the CPE510 and CPE310 wifi routers.
